Gehun ka atta ka Seera

Ingredients
1 small bowl (katori) of gehun ka atta
1 small bowl (katori) of sugar
1 ½ to 2 tbspns of ghee (unmelted)
4 small bowls (katori) of water
½ tspn of elaichi powder
A big pinch of saffron (kaiser)
3 to 4 pcs of black peppers whole
2 tspns of kismis soaked in water for a few minutes

Method
In pan melt ghee add the atta and the peppercorns and roast till the colour of a horlicks biscuit, the trick is to keep stirring and keep on a medium flame.
Simultaneously in another pan boil the water and sugar together.
As soon as the atta is the required colour add the water not too quickly and not too slowly ask someone to help you, and mix vigorously but be careful as the water will froth up. Keep mixing for at least 5 minutes. Now add the elaichi powder ,kismis and Kaiser. Thoda aap ka bhagwan ji ko chada di jiye and serve hot with garam, garam pakodis!!!!!!!!! Heaven on earth!!!

Mixed pakodas

Vegetables of your choice.

My choice is :
Thinly sliced potatoes
Medium sliced cucumber
Thinly sliced raw bananas
Sticks of capsicums
Fresh baby corns sliced in half
And thin slices of onions

For the batter
Take 1 cup of besan ka atta
½ cup of suji
1 tbspns of curds
A pinch of hing
1 tspn of red chilli pwdr or as to your taste
Salt to taste, start of with ½ a tspn
¼ to ½ tspn of garam masala
½ tspn crushed saunf
And a big pinch of soda bi carb
Mix very well by adding enough water so you have a thick dripping consistency.
Heat fresh oil, dip the veggies in the batter and gently place in the medium to hot oil fry of course to a golden colour. Serve hot with green chutney /sauce.

A Tip
If you have time you may also add a tspn or 2 of ginger and green chilli paste, and then you may reduce the chilli powder.
